# Support

**Existing customers can email [assist@hume.ai](mailto:assist@hume.ai) for help with the API, their account or billing.** New customers can reach Hume's sales team through the [Contact form](https://www.hume.ai/contact-form).

## Getting help

Before you email support, check the [status page](https://status.hume.ai) for an ongoing incident. If a request failed or returned something unexpected, include:

1. The name of your organization on the Hume Platform.
2. The endpoint you called.
3. The request ID, from the `X-Request-Id` header or the `request_id` of the error body. See [Reporting a problem](/audio-decisions/docs/errors#reporting-a-problem).
4. When you sent the request, with the time zone.
5. What you expected and what happened instead.
6. A request that reproduces the problem, such as a cURL command.

>
> Never include your API key. Remove it from code, logs and commands before you send them.

## Reporting a security issue

Email [security@hume.ai](mailto:security@hume.ai) to:

1. Report a vulnerability or a suspected security incident. Describe what you found and how to reproduce it.
2. Report an API key that was exposed. Revoke it on the [API keys page](https://cloud.hume.ai/settings/organization/api-keys) first, and switch your code to a new key.
3. Request Hume's SOC 2 report or ask about security practices.
